Robert Redford

Charles Robert Redford Jr. Amerykański aktor i reżyser filmowy.
Studiował malarstwo na uniwersytecie w Colorado, następnie historię sztuki w Paryżu. Z końcem lat 50. powrócił do Stanów Zjednoczonych i uczęszczał do American Academy of Dramatic Arts w Nowym Jorku. W 1959 roku debiutował na Broadwayu i w telewizji, w 1962 na ekranie.
Aktywnie działa w ruchu kina niezależnego, również zaangażowany w ruch ekologiczny. Początkowo kariera aktorska Redforda, ze względu na warunki fizyczne, wiązała się z grywaniem ról przystojnych amantów. Aktor przełamał ten stereotyp, decydując się na rolę rewolwerowca w Butch Cassidy i Sundance Kid G.R. Hilla (1969, nagroda BAFTA dla najlepszego aktora).
Uznawany za jednego z najwybitniejszych aktorów amerykańskich.
